Antique Victorian 18k Gold 2.95ctw Old Mine Cut Diamond Blue Enamel Platter Ring
Here we have a magnificent antique diamond platter ring crafted from solid 18k yellow gold during the Victorian era. The ring features an approximately 0.65 carat old mine cut diamond 8-prong set at its center. It is a fine quality stone with J colour and clean SI2 clarity. That center stone is surrounded by 8 prong set old mine and European cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.30 carats total. Those stones are similar in quality with near-colourless to faint yellow J/K colour and very clean VS1 to SI1 clarity. Those outer 8 stones are also accented with lines of dark blue enamel and texturing work on the underside of the basket. Finally, there is wonderful engraving, texturing, and beading work present on each half of the outside of the shank. It appears that the shank had to be reattached to the head of the ring at some point in the past and (possibly at the same time) one of the mine cut diamonds was replaced with an old European cut stone. However, none of that is readily noticeable from a normal viewing distance.
